Skat transit jerry lawnsburg11/18/2023 When Bob works with people who mess up, he mentions a better alternative. Every bot in Bob's employ echoes a similar phrase "Be safe, Boss, I don't want to work for anyone else." He listens, he encourages, and he works with them. In a galaxy where robots are required to wear limiters-to prevent them from "stepping out of line"-Bob Wilson treats his bots as trusted employees people with often more specialized skills and knowledge than he does. Seeing you improve and grow would be all the thanks I would require. Jerry, if I may be of service, I would be happy to help, in any way you would find useful. He may not be a great writer yet, but he is a masterful storyteller. It is my sincere wish that Jerry continues this series indefinitely, hopefully learning and improving as he goes. They have a great deal of heart, and the storylines are fascinating and compelling. Even with these glaring flaws, these books are worth buying and reading. I'm an avid reader, a published author (from back in the pre-ebook days) and I'm a former creative writing teacher. Jerry doesn't give his readers enough credit, he's afraid they will miss out on the joke.īut. There are quite a few little verbal jousts like this, and they get tiresome and frankly, nauseating. But then it is repeated almost verbatim to almost literally every new character that is introduced. Not really funny at first, but acceptable. For instance, the main character likes to say "you can call me Bob at first." To which the person addressed is supposed to reply "At first? Then what should I call you?" then Bob replies "Asshole, like everyone else." He has a habit of coming up with a small joke and then beating it to death, literally hundreds of times. It's like he doesn't go back and read what he wrote, or speak the dialogue aloud. Many of his sentences are just a mess in terms of syntax. However, he writes awkwardly at times, far too often in fact. Jerry is very good at getting his ideas down on paper, and in a manner that is enjoyable to read. His imagination is wonderful, and the books are oddly charming, and very hard to put down. First, let me say that I adore this series and I sincerely hope that Jerry keeps it going for a very long time.
